English Slip Stitch Selvedge Edge

I came across this selvedge edge, which gives the work a clean finish and prevents it from curling.

A Clean Selvedge: French Selvedge Stitch

It has been quite a long time since I have posted on my blog. I have certainly not stopped knitting. I thought that I would post something that is very useful and will give your project a nice clean finished look - the French Selvedge Stitch. As it turns out, I've been doing this stitch all along and didn't even realize I was doing it. A special thanks to the 4-H judge at the fair for recommending the method so very long ago. Essentially it's just slipping the first stitch onto your working needle which every way the pattern suggests and work the rest of the row as normal. If it's a knit stitch, slip it knit wise & visa verse if it's a purl stitch, slip it purl wise. Here is a video, with special thanks to New Stitch a Day.
